BOOK REVIEW: 'The Ride of a Lifetime' by Robert Iger
Updated: Jan 19
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Put simply this is one of the most inspiring, educational and fascinating business books I have ever read. 10/10. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
'The Ride of a Lifetime' by Robert Iger is a fascinating insight into one man's career from humble beginnings all the way through to running the most famous company in the world.
It covers getting his first break, pressure and expectation, global disruption, Steve Jobs, LucasFilm, the streaming wars, corporate politics, success, failure, innovation and lessons in leadership.
I flew through the book and, as expected from a company famous for storytelling, it never skips a beat or slows down. He even recaps many of the lessons right at the end which was an excellent (and unexpected chapter) which took it from a 9 to a 10 - transforming it from an interesting autobiography to a useful reference and resource I will go back to again and again.
What really struck me before I read the book was interviews of the man, and to me his integrity, passion and credibility screams through as someone you would genuinely follow to the ends of the earth... and on that he stands out from the crowd! 💡💡
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 10/10
